Flower Crazy!

Last Wednesday, my mom and I had a consultation with a florist that we heard excellent things from.  I'm so excited we're using them, I feel he really understands what my vision is and can carry it out.  I'm all about simple is more and elegance.  We talked for probably an hour about all different types of flowers.  I already had an idea of what kind I wanted, and he suggested some also, which were all tha bomb!  Here are some of the flowers we'll be using: pink and white peonies, hydrangeas, roses, lilies, gerber daisies.. and a few more that I can't remember right now.

So, obviously the colors I really want to use are white, pink and lavender and hints of green also!

Oh la la

I'm in love with esty.com.  It has EVERYTHING and for weddings it's God sent! I can literally search for anything and things will pop up!  For example, garters(the thing the bride puts on her upper thigh for the groom to take off), they have the neatest garters I've ever seen.  I thought garters where just solid colors and just pretty blah.  But.. take a look at some of these!

Topper

So.. cake toppers.  Not needed, but I think they're kinda cool.  I found a couple of websites that have some different kind of cake toppers, besides your more traditional one.  Take a look..

The only issue now.. finding an interracial couple.. and it's easier to find a black male and white female.  Finding white male and black female.. that is actually cool, kinda hard.  Who knew?

The dress my girls will wear!

When thinking about bridesmaid dresses, I knew I wanted something elegant, and sexy but not too over revealing.  One of my bridesmaids(Alexis) sent me a pic of this one dress and I knew.. that was it!  It is beautiful! I want to buy one for myself hehe.  I'm not the bride that wants her BM's to look all average and plain.  I want them to look beautiful, as they are. 

The dress is by Jim Hjelm and will be black, like the color shown here.

Koozie Kool

There is this store called Hang-Ups close to where I live, and I'm going to say.. it's my fav store that has everything!!  I went there to get a friend a birthday present, and found this cool damask, monogrammed koozie!  The coolest thing about it.. it's my wedding colors!  I think this will be with me during our reception. :0)

So glad it's hump day!

I've starting to like Wednesdays!  Not only is it hump day BUT it's also the day I get to watch So you think you can dance AND Glee Club!  Gotta go.. it's on!

Current Obsession

I can't help myself but to google our reception site.. a lot.  I can't help it!  I love seeing all of the different ways the room looks depending on the occasion and it's neat to see pictures of other people's weddings that were held there.  It seems like everytime I do it, I see more pix! yaayy! 

I love this place it was exactly what I wanted, I love the chandeliers and the crown molding throughout.

So many flowers!

The flower I'm in love with is the peony.  Peonies are so pretty and they come in a lot of different colors.  I would love to use these for my bouquet and the bridesmaids.  They're so full and they have this simple but elegant look to them. 

STD'S! (save the dates for those not hip to the wedding lingo)

Save the dates, not needed but nice to send out to those people you want to be sure can make it to the wedding.  I ordered our std's from Etsy.com of course!  Just the best thing since sliced bread and diamonds!  I used designer andrea gerig designs.  She was nice to work with, very quick and not expensive.  She sent it through email and I made copies with cardstock through overnightprints.com.  I just got them today, and I LOVE THEM!  And they are pretty cheap too, 25 for $4.95.

Very Special

Ok.. the first time I tried on wedding gowns was January 1, 2009.  I went to Cardinal Bridal, and I went with most of my bridesmaids minus 2 and my mom also went.  I didn't end up purchasing my dress there, and none of the pix resemble what I have.  But I thought I'd show some of the first contenders.

I really like all of them, but I'm still very happy with my actual wedding gown I chose.

Mother of the bride gown shopping

Last Saturday the mom and I went to look at mother of the bride dresses!  It was so nice for me, because I for once.. didn't have to try any on! lol We went to two different bridal boutiques here in Greensboro.  One Diva's and the other Cardinal Bridal.  I want her to be more vava voom and showing all those curves she has!  But she wants to be more respectful as mother of the bride. hehe She'll look gorgeous in whatever she decides :0)

So.. this is my first post. I'm pretty new to the blogging world, so we'll see how this goes.

First, Hi, I'm Tracey :0). I was engaged on December 25, 2008 to my honey, Richard. We were at Myrtle Beach with my family and he asked me to marry him Christmas morning while walking on the beach.

We've set a wedding date of May 29, 2010 in Greensboro, Nc. So many people ask why are we waiting so long blah blah blah. Can a girl just enjoy being engaged? Geez..

Anyway, we'll see how this blogging thing goes.. for now take a look at the ring, I love it so :0)
